Paired up our Super Pastel to a nice normal, got a nice pile of Pastels. Pastels are a great starter morph with unlimited potential and used in countless designer morphs when bred with almost any mutation. We produced a number of pastels this year from this clutch as well as others.
Finally, last clutch of the 2010 season and one I was counting and waiting on! This girl dropped a nice clutch for us last year with a Jigsaw, LemonBlasts, Pinstripe, Pastels and this year she dropped 8 eggs this morning! Can’t wait to see what this clutch holds as she was bred to three males, but mainly a Lesser male! Hoping for a few KingPins!
Lesser/Super Pastel/Bee X Pinstripe
Just got back from Daytona Breeders Expo 2010, not what it use to be back when Daytona was the Superbowl of Reptile Expos, but we had a great time! Here’s a picture of a few of us having a bit to drink at the Hilton lobby bar Saturday night. We have Garret and Kim Trezona from Southern Rodent Supplier, at the end Garret’s cousin Nick and his girlfriend Natalie, in the center Joe & Annette from Ace of Snakes, followed by my wife Geraldine and I, and at the other end Steven Kelley and his girl Colleen.

You always see threads on forums asking about Mojave Vs Lesser, Lesser Vs Mojave, and so on. So, I decided to snap a side by side shot of what I consider a nice quality Lesser and nice quality Mojave, both just out of their eggs this morning.
Both Lessers and Mojaves vary quite a bit as individuals. You have great and not so great examples of both morphs, and as always beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I prefer my Mojaves to be high yellow, crisp blacks Vs grays. My Lessers I prefer on the lighter side, more yellows and light tans Vs dark browns. Both are awesome mutations and create some incredible combinations with their own distinct look. No collection is complete IMO without both of these to work with and expand on!
Finally these are out of their eggs, gotta love Lessers! Can’t wait till these shed and see what they look like afterwards, I know I’ll have to force myself to sell any of these!

First batch of Mojaves out, three more cooking! Great odds, 4 Mojaves, 1 Normal, I’ll sex them once I set them up out of the egg tub tonight. I actually think this years group of Mojaves will be even nicer than last years babies! Talk about clean and high yellow, just colorful Mojaves! Can’t wait to produce some BEL’s, Pastaves, Mystic Potions, Crystals! Imagine the Pastaves (Pastel Mojaves) produced using these Mojos!!!
This girl dropped one day early, 6 eggs, 2 slugs, not bad for her first year. She looks great, should be good to go again next year at hopefully 2000-2500g. She was bred to a Lesser male, so maybe 1-2 BEL’s AND she was also bred a few times to our BumbleBee, so maybe a LesserSpider or Pastel Lessers in the group. Either way, should be some nice babies!
Here are some mid year ovulations! We’re up to eleven clutches this year and maybe, just maybe a 12th female (Albino X Spider) could be due later this month, or August! That will wrap the year with a 100% success rate on our expected Ball Python breeding season for 2010! So far, hopefully…if all our 2008 and some early 2009 females continue to feed and grow, we should see some 20-30 exciting clutches for 2011 with some supers and 2-3 gene girls (BlackEyed Lucy, BumbleBees, ButterBee, PewterBee, Calico, FireFly to name a few) mixed with some interesting boys.
